SESSION SYNOPSIS
New Jersey, historically a leader in the bioscience industry, has struggled as innovation has shifted from large pharmaceutical corporations to networks of bioscience start-ups and research universities. Professor David Finegold will discuss a major initiative underway to develop the human talent needed to remain a leader in this industry. Professor Finegold led the effort that resulted in a $5.1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) program, designed to help create high-quality, high-paying jobs and grow the region’s bioscience industry.
