$10 Million for Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has donated a four-year, $10 million grant to Rutgers for an Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health. The Foundation grant is a first step toward the completion of the building, and will be supplemented by $55 million from the university. The planned four-story, 88,000-square-foot facility will be located on the George H. Cook Campus, in New Brunswick, and will focus on obesity and its associated diseases. Rutgers has been a pioneer in food science and nutrition and was among the first to establish academic departments in those fields more than a half-century ago.
